Prevalence of MLSB Phenotypes of <i>Staphylococcus aureus</i> isolates in a tertiary care hospital of Delhi

Against the backdrop of ever-changing Staphylococcal resistance pattern, clindamycin remains a viable therapeutic alternative Variation Clindamycin drug patterns with geographic area make inducible testing imperative for all staphylococcal isolates to avoid failure. This was prospective study conducted over period 1.5 years from January 2021 until June 2022. Prevalence different MLSB Phenotypes Staphylococcus aureus determined by standard disc diffusion method as per CLSI guidelines. Pyogenic samples received in Microbiology lab that yielded were further tested presence method. Out 6586 total pyogenic and respiratory specimens lab, 752 samples. On phenotypes, 16.3% found be iMLSB, 19.28% cMLSB, 43.1% MSB type. ICR screening will reduce unessential subjection patient antibiotic, would prevent unnecessary adverse effects patients.
